ELF protects the food supply from toxins that cause cancers and birth defects. Under Proposition 65, hundreds of chemicals have been listed as being “known to the State of California“ to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm. Under the law, none of the listed chemicals should be in our food supply unless consumers are first given a warning.

So that the consumers can make informed choices about the foods they purchase, ELF is vigorously prosecuting actions against food manufacturers and retailers who sell products containing Proposition 65 carcinogens or reproductive toxins without giving consumers a “clear and reasonable” warning.
