Water Quality

ELF works to protect water quality using laws such as Proposition 65, the Clean Water Act, the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Wild & Scenic Rivers Act, and the public trust doctrine. ELF has a trust fund established to protect water quality throughout California. ELF is using those funds to investigate threats to water quality from extractive industries, from toxins in public drinking water supplies, and from contaminants in drinking water sold to the public.
